APPEARANCE
The first thing you might notice about Rodney McKay is his voice, and his very loud mouth. He gestures when he talks, and he talks quite rapidly. You'll hear him before you ever see him come in a room, and you'll probably regret the latter happening. He tends to be acerbic, vicious, and rude on a good day, but once you get to know him there's a surprisingly sweet, wide-eyed innocence under all that...other stuff.

SUMMARY
Rodney McKay is an asshole and that's putting it nicely. He's rude, acerbic, impatient, and doesn't suffer fools lightly. Considering how much of a genius he is, he considers most people to be said fools. He tends to assume people are idiots until proven otherwise, and loves any chance to show off how smart he is in any given situation.That being said, he's also a ball of anxiety even when things are going good. He runs pessimistic on all things, and is a hypochondriac. It's unknown whether he really suffers from hypoglycemia or a citrus allergy or if it's just part of his hypochondria and penchant for thinking of the worst case scenarios immediately.
However, once you crack into the awful jawbreaker, the secret inside is a Rodney who really wishes he could be friends with people, who wishes that he could interact easily with people and have the social skills not to be ostracized. He's trying to be a better person and less of an asshole, but it's very much a work in progress. A very few select people ever get to see his sweet side.
